Imran Khan was born on 25 November 1952 in the heart of Pakistan- Lahore. He is son of a civil engineer, Ikramullah Khan Niazi and his mother’s name was Shoukat khanum. He acquired his preliminary education from high-level Institute Cathedral School and then he got his higher education from Royal Grammar school of England and Aitcheson College, Lahore.

From cricket star to a top politician. Imran Khan is a relatively newcomer in Pakistani politics. Pakistan's former cricket captain Khan entered politics in the late 1990s, forming the PTI.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was founded by Imran Khan on 25 April 1996 in Lahore. Founded initially as a sociopolitical movement, in June 1996 the first Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was formed under the leadership of Imran Khan, including Naeemul Haque, Ahsan Rasheed, Hafeez Khan, Mowahid Hussain, Mahmood Awan and Nausherwan Burki (27) as founding members.
Imran felt depressed during this period and he spent a lot of time by himself by taking camping trips to the mountains and spending weeks in the wildest and remotest parts of Pakistan. Whilst being there he learnt to love the country and the people in it, during this time Imran mellowed as a person and learnt to become more tolerable.
In November 1996 Imran Khan, who had never voted in his life, Joined politics and announced that his party would contest the general lawyers, doctors and other well-educated people who had no previous experience in politics. The main aim of his party was to fght the evil of corruption from society. He started campaigning for the elections and worked almost 18 hours a day.
